Frothy Maple Bourbon Sour

This maple bourbon sour is made with bourbon, fresh lemon juice, maple syrup, and bitters for a cozy fall cocktail. It's smooth, citrusy, and perfectly balanced for autumn.

Two whiskey sour cocktails with frothy tops, garnished with lemon slices on cocktail picks, sit on a white surface with red autumn leaves scattered nearby.

This maple bourbon sour is my go-to when I want a classic whiskey sour with a cozy fall twist. Swapping in maple syrup adds a rich, mellow sweetness that pairs beautifully with the bourbon, while fresh lemon keeps everything bright and balanced.

I love how the flavors come together-warm, smooth bourbon, a touch of maple depth, and that sharp citrus edge from the lemon. It has that unmistakable autumn feel, with just enough spice from the bitters to round everything out.

Shaken until cold and finished with a silky foam, it's simple to make but feels a little elevated. It's the kind of cocktail I reach for on cooler evenings when something smooth, citrusy, and lightly spiced sounds just right.

Notes

If you are using foamer or egg white, it is best to serve this 'neat' meaning without ice. If you're opting for no foam, you can add a large ice cube to your glass.
If you're not using foamer or egg white, you can skip the step where we shake it without ice.
