This blueberry mezcal smash is bright, fruity, and easy breezy. Muddled blueberries and fresh mint meet smoky mezcal and tart lime for a cocktail that tastes like summer in a glass.

A pink cocktail with ice is garnished with blueberries and mint. Blueberries, lime wedges, and a bottle are in the background on a white surface.

This blueberry mezcal smash is the kind of drink I want in my hand all summer long. It's bright, fruity, and easy breezy, the sort of cocktail that comes together without much thought and tastes like you put in real effort. I love pouring it on a warm afternoon in the backyard or handing them out when friends drop by.

The flavor is what makes this one so good. Muddled blueberries and fresh mint give the drink a juicy, garden-fresh base, while lime and a little simple syrup keep everything bright and balanced. Then the mezcal comes through with its gentle smoky edge, which plays beautifully against all that sweet fruit. You get smoky and fresh, sweet and tart, all lightened up with a splash of soda water.

I like to strain my mezcal smash so it's smooth and easy to sip, but if you want the simplest version possible, just build it right in the glass, muddled bits and all. Either way, a quick muddle, a shake, and a top of soda is all it takes.
