Classic Manhattan
A Manhattan is one of those classic cocktails I always come back to. It's smooth, bold, and beautifully balanced with just whiskey, sweet vermouth, and a few dashes of bitters.

I love how simple a Manhattan is to make, yet it always feels a little special. The whiskey gives the drink its rich backbone, while sweet vermouth adds depth and a gentle sweetness. A few dashes of aromatic bitters bring everything together, creating a cocktail that's bold, balanced, and incredibly smooth.
Traditionally, a Manhattan is made with rye whiskey, which gives the drink a slightly spicier character. I often reach for rye when I want that classic flavor, but bourbon is also a great option, making the cocktail a little softer and slightly sweeter. Both work beautifully, so it really comes down to what you enjoy most.
Even though it's such a classic cocktail, it couldn't be easier to make at home. I simply stir the ingredients with ice until well-chilled, then strain the drink into a coupe or martini glass and garnish with a cherry.
