Lavender Salt for Cocktails
Lavender salt adds a soft, floral note and a savory edge to every sip. It makes the prettiest cocktail rim, and it comes together in just minutes with two simple ingredients.

Lavender salt is one of those little finishing touches that make a cocktail feel like you really thought it through, even though it takes almost no effort. It's a pretty, fragrant salt that turns an ordinary rim into something soft and floral with a savory edge, and it's the kind of thing I love keeping in the cupboard for whenever I'm mixing up something special.
The flavor is the whole point here. Grinding lavender buds into sea salt works that gentle, perfumed note right into every crystal, so you get sweet and savory, floral and salty, all in one lick. It makes a gorgeous rim that softens the bite of the salt with a delicate floral sweetness. It's my favorite way to rim a lavender margarita, where that floral note plays beautifully against the bright citrus, and it adds a lovely touch to a salty dog, too.
And it could not be easier to make. A quick grind, a little stir to combine, and you've got a jar of lavender salt ready to dress up drinks whenever the mood strikes.
