Limoncello Martini

This limoncello martini is bright, lemony, and perfectly balanced with vodka, fresh lemon juice, and limoncello. Rimmed with lemon sugar, it's a sunny cocktail that feels made for spring and summer.

Two cocktails in rimmed glasses garnished with edible flowers, with a bowl of lemons, a bottle of limoncello, and a glass bottle in the background.

This limoncello martini is bright, citrusy, and just a little glamorous. Made with vodka, limoncello, fresh lemon juice, and a touch of simple syrup, it has a sweet-tart energy with a distinctly Italian twist. The limoncello deepens the lemon flavor and gives the cocktail a soft, rounded citrus note that feels sunny and elegant all at once.

I like to rim the glasses with lemon sugar for an extra pop of sweet citrus in every sip. It makes the cocktail sparkle a little - both visually and flavor-wise. In the spring and summer, I'll often garnish the drinks with edible flowers like pansies, which make them feel especially beautiful for warm-weather gatherings. A simple lemon twist works wonderfully, too, if you want something classic and understated.

To me, this cocktail feels like the Italian sister to a lemon drop martini. They share that bright lemony personality, but swapping triple sec for limoncello gives this version a smoother, more Mediterranean vibe that's hard not to love.
